For me I think the Paleo way of eating is a great start to a healthier lifestyle. Within the Paleo frame work you can start to design a healthy relationship with food that works for you.
The name and concept of the Paleo lifestyle is based on the idea of eating what our human ancestors subsisted on during the Paleolithic era. Our ancestors were hunters and gatherers who ate only what they could harvest, fish, hunt, or scavenge. Paleo followers believe that our bodies were designed to eat as these early people did, and doing so will enable us to remain healthy, muscular, and fit.
If I knew then what I know now about Paleo and the latitude it provides I would have started with Paleo. I would have saved a bunch of money and a bunch of time.
When friends, family and acquaintances ask me how I lost near 80 lbs these past few years I almost always respond with, “I changed my relationship with food.”
When I say that I always is followed up with, “What do you mean, or how do you do that?” Than I can share a little of my story, which is the true intent of this site. I’m not a nutritionist, just a regular guy who found a way to lost the weight and get healthier.
Did you know there are regional cuisines like; Asian, French, Greek, Italian and TexMex? Neither did I.
Now I’m not 100% Paleo, as I don’t have any food issues except for shrimp, but when I”m shopping or eating out I’m usually making eating decisions within this framework. As an example peanuts and peanut butter on not Paleo. I’ve cut back on my consumption of both however a really like to eat peanut butter out of the jar. My wife thinks I’m crazy so I usually eat it when she’s not looking.
